Day tech-pack designs

I’m working on a few designs of some technical day-packs. They are the sort of thing a bicycle messenger might carry when they’re not working.

I used to design and make bags in my spare time, it is a passion of mine. I am seeking a partner to manufacture these designs.

This is a small day pack with proportions to fit an iPad or netbook. The large top messenger-style flap doubles as the closure for the two top-front pockets. The bottom two pockets are closed with sewn-in magnetic strips. For added optional security, the main flap has a snap closure on either corner. 3D compression straps.

This is a larger version of the small day pack above. The main flap is ‘split’ at the top front edge to double as the front-top pocket closures. All front flaps close with magnetic strips. This pack uses a ‘swivel’ clip at the sides with a thicker shoulder strap to double as a hip strap, so the pack can be worn at the waist. 3D compression straps throughout.

An amended version of the first design, this pack is a slightly larger pack with a distinctly more militaria feel, with its 3 split front pockets, snap closure and 3/4 swivel retainer at either side enabling it to be converted into a comfortable hip pack for camera use or while riding. Horizontal compressions strap is designed ‘inside’ main front pockets to retain quick-access of items in pockets and compression pull is behind central pocket, hidden by the flap. Front pockets feature magnetic closure. (illustration also shows main flap closure when opened)

A pack for bicycle messenger when they’re not working. Features large main compartment with TiZip waterproof zip closure enabling large mouth opening, 3/4 swivel clip for wearing at waist, 3D compressions straps with ‘hidden’ horizontal strap, 3M reflective strip across front pocket with magnetic closure. Rear of bag features neoprene-padded horizontal pocket for bike lock, closed by velcro on either side.

A take on the classic Swiss military bags that were adapted for field camera use, modernised. Features flexible top closure with elasticated corners, semi-rigid, 3/4 swivel clip for wearing at waist, flap to retain excess compression strap length, magnetic dividers inside. I would like to make this one out of waxed canvas. The rest would likely be a heavy Cordura treated with NikWax or similar waterproofing wash.
